Believe it or not, the Band used to "march". With true professional determination, Band Sergeant Mike "High-Tower" Steed managed to get the civilian members of the Band up to some sort of useful standard and as this picture shows we could even hold our dressing. Whilst standing still.
The raised baton means "get ready, we're about to go...". Or maybe "stop playing". Or maybe even "Oi audience, we're over here!". |

Marching into the parade ring now, and look at those straight ranks. Thank goodness for the groundsman who mowed those nice lines...
This was a day when Sally wished she played cornet not Bb bass, and it's not perspective, Sergeant High-Tower REALLY is that tall.
The more perceptive amongst viewers will have noticed that the bass front row have swapped around from their starting positions above. This was owing to the fact that we did some "counter marching" to avoid trampling the VIP tent. Apparently it's supposed to happen.... |

The "Maas"-sed Bands of the Gloucestershire Constabulary and Maastrict Police Drum and Pipe Band outside Police HeadQuarters, Maastrict in 2005.
We are very grateful to our friends at Maastrict Police for their hospitality, changing facitilies and the wonderful venues arranged for joint concerts and after gig beer. We particulary loved their "blue plumes"... |

The stunning venue of Gloucester Cathedral in which we are privileged to play twice a year. This is after the St. George's Day celebration service, 23 April 2008.
The photographer is Alec Prior, our bass trombone player. |
